The Ribbon Shiner is fairly widespread in clear moving waters north of Houston. It is perhaps the most common minnow in the Winter's Bayou crossing of Route 150 in San Jacinto County -- even more common than the ubiquitous Blacktail Shiner. I caught at least 50 of these minnows in day of cast netting in this general area.
